Ankura – 2017

Ankura is the intra college cultural fest which was held from September to November. The theme for Ankura was harmony. The final were held on 24th November, Friday. There were totally 1631 participants who show cased their skills and abilities in dance, music, theatre, oration art and so on. There were a total of 38 events, 33 off –stage and 5 on stage events.

The event’s chief guest was Mr. Gurukiran Shetty, a Kannada music director and an actor. The Rector Rev Fr Leo Pereira presided over the function. On this day the students participating on the on-stage events or the 5 types of dancing showcased their abilities. There were folk dances , Slipt screen, dances, theme and non-theme dances and a mime event. Each event had a separate set of judges who were dancers and actors themselves. The winners of each event performed the following day at the annual day meet.

The event started at around 10 am and ended at 4.30 pm. The Overall winner of the Cultural fest was II MSBA, while the runners up were II PCMC. The event , as a whole was a success and went smoothly without any problem. The students thoroughly enjoyed the program and in the end refreshment were served to all. Students were enthusiastic about all the programmes and participated with vigour and good humour. It is evident that more students will participate next year and make the programme better one.
