Staff Orientation

On the third of June 2016, the staff of the PU College joined with Br Mervin, Br Joel and Br Suman to discuss the values attributed toward being a teacher. Beginning with action songs, the Brothers completely captured the attention of the staff. This was followed by a comprehension exercise wherein Brother Joel narrated a story ending with the question “Who is to be blamed?”. The heterogeneity of answers lead to a dialogue on the meaninglessness of the blame-game. This was followed by a letter writing exercise on dealing with an unhappy student. The afternoon session highlighted teaching as a vocation than as a mere profession. What we all agreed upon was that the greatest return in our field was, when a student returns to the institution, years later as a sensitive, successful human being in search of her/his teachers.
