ANNUAL DAY

November 30, 2019

The 14 th Annual day of St Joseph’s Indian Composite P U College was celebrated on the evening of 30 November, 2019, at the institution grounds. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Air Marshal Philip Rajkumar (Retd), an alumnus of SJIHS. The event was presided over by Rev. Fr Leo Pereira SJ, the Rector of St Joseph’s Indian Institutions. The other dignitaries present were, Rev. Fr Henry Saldanha SJ, the Director of SJICPUC, Principal Mr. Vinod Amrithraj, Vice-Principal Dr. Flora Olinda D’Souza, the Heads of various units of St Joseph’s Indian Institutions and Mr. Leonard Peter, a PTA executive member.
The programme commenced with the College Anthem, followed by invoking the Almighty’s blessings by the college choir with their soulful rendition of the song, ‘Here We Are’ by Don Moen. After lighting of the lamp ceremony, the Vice- Principal Dr. Flora welcomed the gathering and introduced our distinguished Chief Guest of the day. Our Chief Guest, Air Marshal Philip Rajkumar was then honoured in recognition for his commendable work, and for gracing the occasion at his alma mater. He later addressed the gathering and inspired our youth by sharing his life experiences, and ended his speech by sharing his mantra for success. The annual report of the institution was presented by Rev. Fr Henry Saldanha, the Director, and by the Principal, Mr. Vinod Amrithraj. The Rector of the institution, Rev. Fr Leo Pereira delivered the presidential address. The student academic achievers of the year were awarded with merit certificates. Also, some staff members were recognized and honoured for achievements in their respective fields. The programme was adorned by some beautiful cultural performances, theme and non-theme dances, presented by our vibrant students. The final cultural programme, based on the problems and challenges faced by our teenagers, was portrayed in the form of a dance-drama; leaving behind a lasting impression on all of us. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. Shwetha P, co-ordinator of Annual day 2019.
