Celebration of the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola and Staff Family Gathering

On the occasion of the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola, the Holy Eucharist was held on Sunday, 28 th July 2019 in St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions premises. The celebration was attended by all the Catholic students of the institutions as well as the staff and their families. The Eucharist was presided over by the Archbishop of Bengaluru Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado DD and ably assisted by Rev Fr. Stanislaus D’Souza, Provincial of Karnataka Jesuit Province, Rev Fr. Leo Pereira, Rector of St Joseph’s Indian Institutions, Fr. Henry Saldanha SJ, Director of SJIPUC and the Principal of SJIHS, Rev Fr. Cyril Menezes SJ, the correspondent of SJIP and Vice Principal of SJIHS, Rev Fr. Rohan D’Almeida SJ, principal of St Joseph’s CBSE School, Rev Fr. Deepak Joseph SJ, Director of SJCC, Rev Fr. Balraju SJ, the Finance Officer of SJII, Rev Fr. Jeevan Prabhu SJ, Rev Fr. Rudolf Washington, Rev Fr. Jossy D’mello and Rev Fr. Christopher Xavier. After the celebration of the Holy Mass, the Archbishop and the Provincial were felicitated by the Management of SJII. Breakfast was served to all the faithful after the Eucharistic celebration.
Thereafter a short entertainment programme was held in honor of St Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. Addressing the staff and their families of the SJII, Fr. Leo Pereira, the Rector highlighted some of the important values that St. Ignatius of Loyola held dear to his heart which the Society of Jesus all of over the world and especially in St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions are striving to live. He also wished everyone a happy feast. Through a quiz programme and a Power Point Presentation, the audience was educated about St. Ignatius of Loyola, the Society of Jesus and the Jesuits different wings of SJII. The celebrations were concluded by serving a sumptuous lunch to the guest.
