Rally Against Drug Abuse

On the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse, St. Joseph's Boy’s High School (SJBHS) had conducted a rally on 20 th June 2019. The school has taken the responsibility of going on a rally to prevent drug abuse. The neighbouring Josephite institutions and many other colleges took part in the rally. We had an opening ceremony, where the guests and the principal spoke about drug abuse. After that we started our road show at around 9.15 am with our creative charts and pla cards and walked for 2-3 kms around the area spreading awareness to the people around. The traffic was controlled by the traffic police so as to make it easy for us to walk. After the walk was completed we gathered in the auditorium of the school. We had closing ceremony where there was cultural, mime and various others programmes related to drug abuse. We also had chart making competition where, we had to submit one chart and pla- card. After the programme we had our refreshment and resumed back to our classes. Over all it was a great experience.
The English literary club organized movie review on 19 th July 2019. It paves an opportunity to students who can not only gain ideas and knowledge through books and classrooms but also introducing them to various geners the world of art and literature.
In this academic year the students were given an idea based on Holocaust. The Holocaust, also known as the Shoah, was the World War II genocide of the European Jews. Between 1941 and 1945, across German-occupied Europe, Nazi Germany and its collaborators systematically murdered some six million Jews, around two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population. A movie based on Holocaust,’Boy in Stripped Pajamas’ was shown to the students. By the end of the movie, the students were struck with many mixed emotions. Then the students were asked to write a movie review after watching the movie.
The best review was appreciated and awarded. First place was given to Ankitha NK of I PCMC, Second place was won by Triny of I PCMC and the Third place was given to Akshaya of II HEPyS.
