Independence day

St. Josephs’ Indian Institutions celebrated Independence day with unprecedented patriotic fervor on August 15, 2018. Col M B Thimiah, a distinguished alumnus and the Chief Guest of the programme, hoisted the national tri-colour flag and all in union sang the national anthem to pay homage to the nation. The cultural programme presented by the students included – An enthralling dance ballet on Obavva’s bravery during the freedom struggle in Karnataka by our middle school students and a Mime show by the CBSE students. The patriotic songs sung by the students of the community college and a Dollu Kunitha, a popular drum dance of Karnataka staged by the PU students with powerful drumming, acrobatic movements and attractive formations enthralled the audience. The function came to an end with vote of thanks after which sweets were distributed for the students.
