In observance of World Suicide Prevention Day, the Counselling Department conducted an action-oriented programme led by counselors, Ms. Anika D’Souza, Ms. Leann Moorthy, Ms. Rachel Miranda, and Mr. Riyan (Intern). The initiative was implemented in phases. The first phase involved supporting the MindGym Club and displaying mental health awareness posters provided by NIMHANS, Bangalore across the campus. The second phase included experiential activities such as sharing coping strategies, peer-support discussions, and emotional check-ins using a Feeling Chart to promote mental health awareness. The final phase featured a psychoeducation stall, where students were guided in creating safety/self-soothing kits using techniques such as breathing, grounding, mindfulness, coping skills, and self-care, equipping them to manage emotional distress effectively.
