Unraveling the secrets of life - Discover, Explore & Engage

The Department of Biology at SJICPUC was started since the inception of the college in 2006. It offers a comprehensive and engaging exploration of the living world. The curriculum is designed to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of biological principles.

Through hands-on experiments, interactive learning, and real-world applications, our students develop essential skills in scientific inquiry, analysis, and problem-solving.

Our dedicated faculty are passionate about biology and are committed to nurturing the next generation of scientists, researchers, and environmentally conscious citizens.

Explore our department's resources and opportunities to discover the wonders of biology and unlock your potential.

2. Vision

To create a future where students are not only knowledgeable about biology but also appreciate its relevance in their lives and the world around them. This includes fostering a culture of curiosity, inquiry, and critical thinking.

3. Mission

Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental biological principles, developing their scientific literacy, and preparing them for future educational or career paths.

4. Goals

  • Fostering scientific inquiry: Encouraging students to ask questions, conduct experiments, and analyze data to develop their scientific reasoning skills.
  • Promoting environmental awareness: Teaching students about the importance of biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable practices.
  • Developing critical thinking skills: Helping students learn to evaluate scientific information, identify biases, and make informed decisions.
  • Preparing students for higher education or careers: Equipping students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue further studies in biology or related fields, or to enter careers that require a strong understanding of biology.

5. Departmental Initiatives

  • Conducting field trips to local natural areas.
  • Providing opportunities for students to participate in science fairs or competitions.
  • Providing guidance about various courses students can pursue for higher education based on their interests and career opportunities.
  • Partnering with local universities and research institutions to provide students with hands-on experiences in the field of biology.

6. Academic Intake
