The Department of Commerce was founded in 2006, from the first year of the college.

The Department of Commerce at St Joseph’s Indian Composite PU College believes in a student-centric learning environment. Every staff member of the department collaborates with mutual respect to ensure that the programs and curriculum are executed as planned.

4. Infrastructure & Facilities

Well-equipped classrooms with Smart TVs enable effective delivery of lessons and enhance the teaching and learning experience. Multimedia presentations and educational videos are used to explain complex concepts. These tools provide a platform for interactive lessons, making learning more engaging and enjoyable.

Depending on the topics in the lessons, various teaching aids such as case studies, discussion-based learning, and group presentations are used. These methods help develop student participation, problem-solving skills, and overall academic growth.

The department conducts various activities such as seminars, guest lectures, and industrial visits through the Commerce Club. The club encourages students and prepares them for real-world business scenarios.

The Commerce Club also hosts an intra-collegiate fest called “Aakruthi”, where students explore the world of commerce through a wide range of competitions and activities.
