December 08, 2025

The Bijapur Twinning Program was a meaningful two-day experience that gave students an opportunity to learn about social realities, culture, and community life. On Day 1, students attended a joint morning assembly at Loyola PU College where SJICPUC students presented mime, dance, and singing. A talk on the Bijapur Mission highlighted efforts to address the Devadasi system, child labour, HIV/AIDS awareness, and skill training for school dropouts. Students also interacted with Loyola PU students and visited the Loyola campus and Industrial Training Institute. The day concluded with visits to Shivagiri, Ibrahim Rauza, and Navasanidya, a home for HIV-infected children, where students had meaningful interactions. On Day 2, students visited Gol Gumbaz, Loyola High School, and the Centre for Non-Formal Education (CNFE), where they learned about the challenges faced by slum communities and the importance of awareness and unity. Overall, the program was an enriching experience that helped students understand social responsibility and develop empathy towards society.
