On the occasion of World Dementia Awareness month, the Counselling Department of St. Joseph's Indian Composite PU College teamed up with Dementia India Alliance (DIA), Bengaluru to set up an interactive workshop with the I and II PU students of SJICPUC. The theme of the workshop was 'Brain Health - how to enhance your brain health and prepare for exams'. Dr Priya Rose KJ and Ms. Hema Palakodeti, trainers from Dementia India Alliance were the resource people invited for this workshop. The session included activities to provide the students with hands-on experience on how the brain functions and how we can train our brain to function at its optimal level. The importance of a health balanced diet was focused on giving detailed information about the various components a balanced diet must contain. Stress and life stressors - another component discussed in detail and how the brain functions the best when there is an optimal level of stress. Various memory techniques were also discussed and demonstrated among the students. Overall, the session was informative to the students.
