St Joseph’s Indian Composite PU College organized a two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on 15 and 16 May 2026 to enhance the professional and mentoring skills of faculty members. The programme began with a prayer service and an inaugural address by Rev.Fr.Vishal Pinto SJ.On the first day, Mr. Vishwanathan Jayaraman, Founder and CEO of PIPAL TREE, conducted interactive sessions on Amygdala Hijack, Harness Your Social Brain and Social Emotional Learning (SEL). The sessions highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence, perspective-taking, and the integration of cognitive, emotional and social domains in teaching. On the second day, Ms. Seema Pillutla, Counselling Psychologist and Teen Mentor conducted a session on Faculty Mentorship and Student Emotional Wellbeing covering aspects like self-awareness, empathy, rapport building, confidentiality, and mentoring practices. The program was highly informative and beneficial, encouraging faculty members to adapt empathetic and learner-centered approaches in education.
